Sea Star Stable in Brentwood, a special place for horse and rider, has openings for riding lessons, training and boarding.
For the horse, we offer 24/7 turnout in individual paddocks with electric fencing. 10x12 matted stalls have direct access to their paddocks for freedom of movement whenever their heart desires. Hay is fed 4x daily and grain is fed at least 2x daily so tummies are never hungry. Stalls and paddocks are cleaned daily and well-bedded. Water is always available in large tubs that are heated in the winter. There are areas for hand grazing. An outdoor wash stall is available for summer bathing. Fly spray and blanketing (when provided) are taken care of to make sure everyone is comfortable at all times. We have a beautiful well-lit 70x140 indoor arena with rubber/sand footing, a full wall of mirrors, windows and a stereo system. For outdoor riding, we have access to trails, a conditioning field, and a sand outdoor arena w/ jumps (plans for a small cross-country course is in the works). A very knowledgeable and caring owner/manager lives onsite for around the clock attention.
For the owner/rider, we offer a relaxed, supportive environment with a lot of camaraderie. There is plenty of storage space for your equipment and a heated bathroom for changing etc. The barn is always open for you to spend time with your horse. We are very accepting of all riders and disciplines. Currently we are mostly event, dressage and adult pleasure riders.
For the student, we offer a variety of lesson horses from ex-event horses, training/first level dressage horses, all-around quarter horses, ponies and an Arab/NSH. Lessons are taught by pony club A graduate and event rider, Kara Riley-King. Kara specializes in beginners of all ages (3 and up) to preliminary event riders. Safety and fun is always top priority.
