The Governor’s Horse Guards were formed in 1859 for the purpose of escorting the Governor on public occasions. The 14 th President of the United States, Franklin Pierce was Honorary Colonel. Today’s modern unit is a volunteer ceremonial unit of the New Hampshire Army National Guard. Members participate in parades, civic/veteran events & military drill performances while representing the State of New Hampshire and each sitting Governor.

The unit performs at various ceremonial events anywhere from eight to twelve times a year both in and out-of-state.

Dismounted members have a choice to carry flags and/or trained to fire artillery.

I am looking to board a six years old tb mare. I am a full time student and I need an inexpensive place to board. She can be turned out with gelding and mares ... even ponies. I am a responsible, hard working 24 year old and have been riding since I was young. I have competed successfully in hunters, jumpers, and dressage with numerous championships on self-trained horses. I worked at a large breeding and showing stable for two years during high school that was predominately western and so have quite a bit of experience in that regards as well. I have also backed and started dozens of young horses, and have had lots of success in working with "problem" horses, horses off the track, and retraining for different disciplines. I've also given lessons and done freelance training for years. I would love to ride or teach in exchange for board, but also know that mucking stalls and whatnot comes with the territory and I am certainly not adverse to doing that. I work full time in Bedford and live just outside Concord, anything between those two cities or within a 30 minute radius of the Loudon area would be ideal. I am just looking for a safe, friendly barn with an indoor and empty stall that could use some extra help, it doesn't need to be discipline specific or super fancy, I just want a place to ride. I would be willing to start working for a barn immediately if a boarding agreement is in place. I would be available weekends and late afternoons/evenings during the week. Stall Mats Wanted: Im looking for some used stall mats that would fit in a 12x12 stall. I need mats that my horse won't have a hard time getting up on. The stall he was in before had mats but they where smooth, flat and very slippery with no grip bumps or friction to them and he hurt his leg trying to get up, and was out of work for a month. So I had to move him to a stall that had a stonedust floor on the bottom of the barn, and all the stalls down there are real damp and I don't want him standing in a wet stall.
